Pursuing Purpose: Finding Our
Identity Beyond the Game
As athletes, we spend hours training—pushing our bodies, sharpening our skills, and preparing for competition. We measure progress in wins and stats, constantly striving to be better. But what happens when the final whistle blows? When the season ends? When the game doesn’t go our way?
Too often, we tie our identity to our performance. If we win, we feel on top of the world. If we lose, we start questioning our worth. But the truth is, we are more than athletes. Our purpose isn’t just about how well we play—it’s about who we are in Christ. That’s why we started Pursuing Purpose, a Bible study and workshop for female athletes who want to grow in faith while chasing their goals.
Why Faith Matters in Sports
The pressures of being an athlete are real. The expectations, the self-doubt, the desire to prove ourselves—it can be overwhelming. But God never intended for us to carry that weight alone. In Pursuing Purpose, we dive into Scripture to see what God says about our worth, identity, and calling.
- We are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
- We are called to work hard, but trust God with the results (Colossians 3:23).
- We are stronger when we lean on Christ (Philippians 4:13).
Building a Community of Strong Women
One of the best parts of Pursuing Purpose is the sisterhood we’re building. This isn’t just about studying the Bible—it’s about sharing struggles, supporting each other, and growing together. It’s a place where we can be real about the challenges we face as female athletes and encourage each other to stand firm in faith, no matter what the scoreboard says.
Come As You Are
Maybe you’re struggling with confidence. Maybe you’re questioning your purpose beyond the game. Or maybe you just need a space to grow in your faith with like-minded athletes. Wherever you are in your journey, this is for you.
